Samwel Katungu is a Climate Finance and Sustainability Specialist with over 12 years of experience providing technical leadership in climate investment, green finance, environmental economics, sustainable agriculture, and private sector development across Kenya and the Horn of Africa. He has extensive expertise in climate finance advisory, blended finance, carbon markets, ESG, natural capital valuation, environmental and social safeguards, and investment readiness for governments, development partners, and private sector institutions.

Samwel has led and supported numerous climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy, circular economy, and green finance initiatives through organizations including the Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC), Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), World Vision Kenya, IFAD, and Korean technology firms. His experience includes mobilizing climate finance, developing bankable investment proposals, structuring blended finance facilities, managing green investment portfolios, and advising on sustainable finance taxonomies and climate-resilient development strategies.

He holds a Master of Science in International Agricultural Economics and Policy from Kangwon National University (South Korea) and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and Resource Management from Moi University.
